I pasted 12 resumes into ChatGPT before building this. Here's what it got right.

Step 2: The personal rewrite Take that list of missing skills and rewrite your bullet points yourself. Focus on actual projects where you used those specific skills in the real world.
Step 3: The tone check Read the new points out loud. If it sounds like a press release, rewrite it to sound like a normal professional describing a regular day at work.
An honest caveat
You can absolutely build a system to do this yourself. If you spend enough time tweaking your prompts and double-checking every output, you can create a highly tailored resume using just the free chat tools. It just takes an hour or two per application, and you have to be meticulous about reviewing the final text to ensure it stays truthful.
